UW Anthropological Society
The goal of the UW Anthropological Society is to bring together students interested in the field of anthropology in order to build social and professional relationships, promote anthropology at the University and within the broader community, communicate the relevance and importance of an anthropological perspective as we try to collectively find solutions to the ever complex problems that pervade our world, and to demonstrate, through a field that is rooted in humanity, community, and the cross-cultural exchange of ideas, that difference and diversity strengthens, empowers and uplifts us.
This year we are working towards examining the overlap between anthropology with fields such as business, political science, environmental science, sociology, art history, and the many more major options at UW. It is important to recognize the application of anthropology to virtually every field and how its relevance can be used.
The bi-weekly meetings of UW Anthropological Society range from discussions, faculty guest lectures, activities, events, and field trips. We hope to inspire everyone to think deeply of the application of anthropology in day-to-day living. Join us every other week and get involved with the UW Anthropological Society!
